Sara Irene "Sally" Mckee

Sara I. "Sally" McKee, 98 of Howland Township, died Sunday morning, May 27, 2018, at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles. She was born August 28, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania the daugher of the late John and Ida Harmon Ray. She had been a Trumbull county resident since 1943. Sally was a 1938 graduate of East Brady High School in Pa. She worked in the dietary department of Hillside Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, she volunteered for 25 years with the Hillside Hospital Auxiliary. Sally was an active member of Howland Community Church for 39 years, where she loved to volunteer with various church dinners, fundraisers and was known as the "pie lady". She was a member of the Howland SCOPE and volunteered with Mobile Meals. Sally loved people and was very much a people person. She enjoyed bowling and had bowled on area leagues. She enjoyed relaxing and socializing on her front porch and loved traveling with her husband, LaVerne and her good friends, and especially enjoyed cruises. Sally is survived by her son, Darryl J. McKee Sr. of Howland and two grandsons, Darryl McKee Jr. of Howland and Mark McKee of Berlin Center. Her husband of 31 years, LaVerne A. McKee, whom she married August 26, 1940 preceded her in death September 14, 1971. Two brothers, Ken and Gerald Ray have also preceded in death. The funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the noon service time. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Rd. SE, Warren,OH 44484.
