Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 17th at the Canfield Christian Church for Sharon K. Dietrich of 1057 Laverne Ave. in Youngstown who passed away Friday afternoon at Forum Northside Hospital. Mrs. Deitrich was born Feb. 3rd, 1941 in Middletown, Indiana the daughter of Richard and Frances (Griffin) Rector. A 1959 graduate of Butler University and a 1961 graduate of The Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana, Mrs. Dietrich was a director of both Christian Education and Music at various churches where her husband served. She was a child care provider for over 25 years and was a tutor for the Laubach Literacy program where she tutored students in english and reading. She was a member of the league of women voters and a member of the Randolph Christian Church where her husband is pastor. He recently retired as pastor from the Canfield Christian Church. Besides her husband, Pastor Errol Dietrich whom she married in 1968, she leaves her mother and step-father Mrs. Chester (Frances) Skinner of Nakomis, Florida and two children: Jeffrey Dietrich and his wife Rebecca of Canfield, and Julie Dietrich of Kenosha, WI. Mrs. Dietrich also leaves a sister: Mrs. Wallace (Phyllis) Poor of New Castle, Indiana, as well as a brother Richard Rector and his wife Rita of Richmond, Indiana. Sharon was preceded in death by her father. The family asks that memorial tributes be sent to The Diabetes Foundation or to the Christian Church in Ohio Disciples of Christ. Friends may call from 7-9 P.M. on Tuesday, October 16 at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
