Sheryl (Passinger) Eckert, 70, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019, at her home in Austintown. Born on February 27, 1949, she was a life-long Ohio resident.
Sheryl was a 1967 graduate of Boardman High School, and continued on to earn her degree from Dyke College in Cleveland. She was a retired Youngstown Postal Service window clerk, prior to which she was in medical records at South Side Hospital.
Sheryl is survived by her daughter, Carrie Eckert, her grandson, Zachary Eckert (18), and her granddaughter, Madison Eckert (9), all of Austintown. She also leaves her youngest sister, Susan (Passinger) Potts, of Boardman, her niece, Caitlin Potts, of Columbus, and another niece, Jennifer (Vukovich) Angelo, of Columbus.
Preceding her in death were her middle sister, Diane Vukovich, and both parents, Floyd and Shirley (Allen) Passinger.
Her most treasured time was that spent with her daughter and her grandchildren, whom she had the privilege of helping raise, as a "hands-on" Nana. For Sheryl, the sun rose and the moon shone because of those 3 loves of her life. She was, indeed, a proud Mom and Nana, and will be deeply missed.
Celebrating her life, calling hours will be on Saturday, November 9, from 3-5 at Lane Funeral Home, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown. Immediately following, there will be a brief time in which family and close friends may honor her with memories of life and love.
