Shirley Ann Conway

Shirley Ann Conway, 84 of Howland passed away peacefully in her room at the Shephard of the Valley Howland care facility on Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2018. She was born on December 7, 1934 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of the late Ned and Thelma Meythaler. Shirley met her husband, Robert Conway, while Robert attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich. Shirley and Robert were married on September 5, 1958 in Pennsylvania and resided in Warren, Ohio. Shirley and Robert helped build their own residence in Howland that they still live in today. Shirley enjoyed traveling with the family in their Argosy travel trailer as well as taking longer trips requiring flying in retirement. Shirley regularly played tennis with a close group of tennis buddies into her seventies. In addition, Shirley enjoyed decorating ceramics, baking (pies), gardening, maintaining her flower beds, picnics in Mill Creek Metroparks and the Fellows Riverside Gardens, and spending time with family and friends. Shirley is survived by her husband Robert and her three children; Suzanne (Thomas) Miranda, Robert (Deborah) Conway, and Thomas Conway, as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel located at 180 Garfield Dr. N.E. in Warren, where a memorial gathering will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Boardman.
