Shirley Sickle, 80 of Berlin Center died early Thursday morning at her residence. Shirley was born May 30, 1943 in Ravenna, a daughter of the late Francis and Mildred (Kale) Miller.
She had been a pharmacy technician for the former Buckeye Pharmacy in Canfield and several other local pharmacies. Shirley was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking and according to her family, made the best macaroni and potato salad .Most importantly, Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandsons.
Her husband, Gary A. Sickle, whom she married October 14, 1960, died February 9, 2014. She leaves a son, Richard Sickle of Warren; two daughters, Lori (Chad) Cole of Douglassville, PA, Kelly (William) Hawksley of Berlin Center and her three grandsons, Jackson Cole, Anthony Hawksley and William Hawksley, Jr. Shirley also leaves two brothers, Donald (Sandra) Miller of Gassney, SC, James (Lila) Miller of Berlin Center; three sisters, Sherry McGarvey of Berlin Center, Arlene Miller of Austintown, Michelle (James) Benge of Mineral Ridge and numerous nieces and nephews including, Danielle Darnley and Adam Miller to whom she was very close. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Sickle; two brothers, David Miller, Kenneth Miller; two sisters, Linda Roofner and Kathy Gongaware.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 21st from 5-7 pm at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, Berlin Center.
