Sigrid Staudacher

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10am Wednesday in St. Mary’s Church in Mineral Ridge for Sigrid Staudacher, 71, who died Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. She was born January 8, 1938 in Friedberg, Germany, a daughter of Ernst and Martha (Artman) Kunz, and she came to the U.S. in 1957. She worked for Park Avenue Maintenance in Warren for several years cleaning offices and doing other janitorial duties until her retirement last year. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and its Women’s Group. She enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, cooking, and gardening, but her greatest love was her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband William J. Staudacher, whom she married June 1, 1985; a son Daniel (Valerie) Staudacher of Flower Mound, Tex; two daughters; Carla Hodge of Millerton, Pa; and Michelle (Doug) Douthit of Tucson, Az; five grandchildren; Mindy (Richard) Reed of Scottsdale, Az; David Staudacher of Flower Mound, Tex; and Tyler, Trevor, and Tanner Hodge of Millerton, Pa. She also leaves a brother; Ernst “Harry” Kunz, Jr. of Friedberg, Germany; and five sisters; Marie Lucke of Friedberg; Melitta (Wesley) Browning of Leavenworth, Kansas; Gisela Benoit of Leominister, Mass; Waltraud (Ernie) Pina of Chula Vista, Calif; and Angelika (Howard) Woods of Hagerstown, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; Heinrich, Otto, Willy, And Ralph Kunz; and two sisters; Erica Gabsa and Annelise Johnson. Friends may call from 5-8pm Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to everyone at St. Joseph Health Center and the Hospice Unit for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave to Sigrid.
