Sonny J. Melius

Niles - Sonny J. Melius, 51, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 24, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren. Sonny was born on September 18, 1967 in Warren, OH, a son of Clarence and Kathryn (McCormick) Melius. He was a 1986 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and worked at Great Lakes Cheese. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting deer, fishing, camping, joy riding on his motorcycle, or spending time with his friends and family around a bon fire. He enjoyed trying new restaurants with his wife. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also was a selfless person that would help anyone when needed. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Valerie Melius, whom he married on March 2, 2004; his father, Clarence Melius; two children, Sonny and Chasidy Melius, brother Frank Melius, and sisters, Krystal Melius and Kay (Brian) Putnam. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Melius. Friends and family may visit from 4-6:00PM on Friday March 1, 2019 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Niles Chapel at 415 Robbins Ave. in Niles; with a celebration of life to follow at 6:00PM.
