Sophie "Dolly" Hynst

Fowler – Sophie “Dolly” Hynst, 82, passed away Friday morning July 12, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center. 

Dolly was born on November 27, 1941 in Warren, OH, a daughter of the late Walter and Anna Bansky Sr. 

She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and worked at Packard Electric for 30 years before retiring. 

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Champion. She enjoyed being outdoors, whether she was watching and feeding hummingbirds, cardinals, and squirrels, or taking care of her garden and canning with her husband. She had a love for all animals, especially dogs. In her younger years, she enjoyed waterskiing, boating, and riding her motorcycle alongside her husband. 

Dolly will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Donald Hynst whom she married on June 29, 1968; son, Michael Hynst; grandsons, Ryan and Adam Hynst; and many cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Walter Bansky Jr. 

Family and friends can visit from 10-12:00PM on Friday July 19, 2024 at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel located at 164 N. High St. in Cortland, with services to follow at 12:00PM at the funeral home. 

Burial will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna Township.
