Stanley Grimes, 89, passed away on March 24th, 2024 at St. Elizabeth-Boardman. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on December 30th, 1934, a son to the late Harry Grimes and Venia Knight. He was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School in Clarksburg, West Virgina and went on to join the US Navy where he served for 4 years. After his time in the military, he went on to work at Alcoa Aluminum, where he spent 38 years as a mill wright.
Stanley met his future wife Delma (Lang) Grimes at church and went on to marry her on June 22, 1957. They spent 66 years together, raising 3 children, creating memories and building a foundation based on love.
Stanley had many passions in his life, especially being a mechanic, wood working, a little league umpire, and was a bigtime fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a proud 50 year member of the Perry Masonic Lodge in Salem, Ohio.
Stanley leaves behind to carry on his memory, his wife Delma; his 3 children, David (Molly) Grimes, Deborah Grimes, and Timothy (Dawn Bennett) Grimes; siblings, Paul Grimes and Eloise Grimes, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Iola Woodward, Bonnie Skinner, Goldie Stackpole, and Riley Grimes.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel with a service to follow at 1:00 PM and a procession to Green Haven will follow.
