Stella Lee Gibson, age 80 of Howland Township went home to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, October 25, 2018 at her home in Howland. She was born November 17, 1937 in Lookout, Kentucky the daughter of the late Albert and Zada May Callahan Carpenter. She had been a Trumbull county resident since 1953. One of her first jobs was at the Handy Andy Drive-In Restaurant in McKinley Heights as a carhop and where she met her future husband, Roy. She owned R & S Cleaning Service in the 1980s for about 10 years. Stella loved playing the guitar and playing bluegrass music with her husband. She loved the Lord and gospel music. Stella enjoyed cooking, especially Southern cooking. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley A. Pyne of Niles and Linda L. (Jim) Eckenrod and Nanette L. (Darion) Parish both of Howland; one son, LeRoy (Sherry) Gibson of Howland; one stepson, Raymond D. "Bud" Gilcher of Warren; twenty two grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren and three sisters, Nellie Hardway of West Va., Bonnie Pyne of Niles and Connie Bower of Warren. Her husband of over 56 years, Roy D. Gibson, whom she married August 7, 1958 preceded her in death on January 11, 2015. Two daughters, Nancy Harney and Wanda Cottrill and four brothers, Donald, Dewey Allen, Tommy and Bobby Carpenter all have preceded her in death also. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where the family will greet friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
