Stephen George Dominko

Stephen George Dominko, 71 Stephen George Dominko, 71 of Canfield died early Friday morning at his residence. Stephen was born July 16, 1947 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Stephen I. and Mary Louise (Varmecky) Dominko and came to this area in 1973. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1965 and had worked as a senior field technician/land surveyor for M.S. Consultants for 43 years until he retired. Stephen was a former Civil Air Patrol in Somerset, Pennsylvania and had been a drummer for the Country Express Band. Stephen was a self-taught leather craftsman, making belts, purses, holsters and even a chess board. He was a member of the NRA and loved to target shoot. Stephen was an avid golfer and bowler and had belonged to various golf and bowling leagues. He enjoyed fishing, especially in in Florida and Lake Erie. He was a wonderful cook. He had learned how to cook from a friend that was a caterer and was able to whip up a great meal. He loved to work on cars and also loved drag racing. It was there that he met his wife, who survives, the former Lois Elaine Walker, whom he married January 12, 1974. Stephen also leaves a sister, Catherine Ann Dominko Mishler of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. There are no services or calling hours per Stephens wishes.
