There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date for Steven C. Shives, 46 of Struthers who died Monday evening at his residence with his family at his side. Steven was born June 16, 1971 in Youngstown, a son of Herbert and Loretta (Febo) Shives and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Ursuline High School in 1990 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in civil engineering and a minor in mathematics from Youngstown State University in 1995, where he received the Engineer Technology Student of the Year. He was a long standing civil engineer for Marucci and Gaffney Construction Company for 17 years. Steve loved sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed four-wheeling, golfing, target shooting, playing basketball and was an Ohio State Buckeye fan. He enjoyed cooking, especially making his spaghetti and meatballs like his grandmother did. As a child he loved to go to the "popsicle store" and continued with that tradition with his nieces and nephews. Besides his father of Youngstown, he leaves his wife the former Stephanie Dudinsky, whom he married June 17, 2017; his daughter, Jamie Shives; two step-sons, Ian Miller and Eric Miller all of Struthers; a brother Michael Shives and his wife Jean of Boardman and their children, Christopher Shives and Michelle Shives; two sisters, Sharon Shives of Youngstown and Jennifer Cromwell and her husband Eric of Poland and their children, Eric Cromwell, Jr., Emily Cromwell, Jacob Purfey and Jozie Purfey. Steven was preceded in death by his mother Loretta. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Anstrom Chapel, Boardman.
