Sue Collins Kirkland

Sue Collins Eason Kirkland, 88 yrs. old, went home to be with her Lord Savior on Tuesday, November 14, 2024. Born in Greene County, North Carolina on July 5, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Kirby Lee and Sallie Meadows Eason. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Edith Tripp Eason, son, Randy Kirkland, son-in-law, James Bright, sister, Grace Eason Sumner, and brother, William Eason, and Linda Eason.

Sue worked at the Canfield Local Schools in the cafeteria for 20 years. She was a member of the Mill Creek Community Methodist Church were she graciously donated her time in the kitchen during church events. She enjoyed entering her bake goods at the Canfield Fair and received several awards.

Sue is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bruce Kirkland of Canfield; son, Kenny Kirkland (Carla) of Vanceboro, North Carolina; daughters, Mary Beardsley (John) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Debbie Varie Bright of Coconut Creek, Florida, Jennifer Viggiano,(Jim) of Rockford, Michigan, and Susan Russell (Fred) of Youngstown, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Tiffany Kirkland Paxson (Don), Kenny Kirkland (Kelsey), Kara Kirkland, Breanna Beardsley Donahue (Dustin), Ashley Varie Roush (Dustin), Joseph Varie (Kelsee), Anthony Viggiano, Aiden Viggiano, Britnee Dyke Ledsome (Dakota), Shawn Dyke; 10 great-grandchildren, Gavin, Mason, & Anna Paxson, Lane & Kaden Kirkland, Lacey, Dakota, Aida & Kenslee Ledsome, Chloe Donahue; her brothers, Toby Eason (Gail), Sandy Eason, and sister-in-law, Eunice Eason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Lane Funeral, Canfield Chapel with Rev. Greg Calko officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 19th from 5-7 pm at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sue’s memory to Mill Creek Community Methodist Church.
