Susan Jayne Carr

A memorial service celebrating the life of Susan Jayne Carr will be held at 3 PM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Ohltown United Methodist Church. Susan passed away Friday evening, December 7, 2018 at her home with her loved ones by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 30, 1948 in Youngstown the daughter of Robert and Lelia Mae (Knight) Bickerstaff. Susan retired in 2006, after 37 years of service, from General Motors Lordstown as a coordinator for the assembly line. She was a member of Ohltown United Methodist Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, shopping, and watching westerns. Susan loved her animals. She leaves her husband of 42 years, Bill Terry Carr, whom she married August 7, 1976, two sons, Dennis (Gladine) Phillips Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, and Anthony Phillips of Austintown, three grandchildren, Amanda, Anthony Jr. and Andrew Phillips, two step-children, Mark A. Carr of Fort Myers, FL, and Terri Carr of Cortland, and one step- grandson Wayne Davis. Susan also leaves two sisters, Ruth Ann Connelly of Girard, and Karen Purnell of Austintown, as well as several nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 1 to 3 PM Saturday, December 15, at the Ohltown United Methodist Church where services will start at 3 PM. Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to MVI Hospice or the Ohltown United Methodist Church in Susans name.
