Susanne B. Applegate

Susanne B. Applegate, 75, passed away on January 20, 2019 at Trumbull Regional Hospital. Susie was born at the family farm in Johnston Township on May 4, 1943 to Floyd & June (Keeler) Smith. On October 12, 1985, Susanne was united in marriage to Joseph Applegate who survives. Susie spent her career driving a school bus for the Lakeview School District retiring after 24 years. She loved horses and has had up to five at time over the years. She loved riding and caring for them. Susie enjoyed the outdoors from tending to her flowers or riding her motorcycle, she just loved the fresh air. Besides her husband, Susie is survived by her children: Wendy Mullen, Sean Fee, Shannon Fee, Erin (John) Powell, Meredith Fauvie, Theresa Applegate and Kelly (Chad) Nichols; her grandchildren: Michelle, Brian, Ethan, Ryan, Carmen, Nicole and Delaney; her great-granddaughter Genevieve; her siblings: Marlene Boorn, Lurine (Jim) Lawson, Glenn (Sandy) Smith, Floyd (Sally) Smith and Lawrence (Susie) Smith and many other relatives. Susie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Merle Smith. A memorial service for Susie will be held on Thursday January 24 at 5:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans chapel, Cortland.
