Sylvester ''Sy'' M Ulicny

Memorial services will be held at a later date for Sy Ulicny of 760 Blueberry Hill Canfield who passed away Caprice Nursing Home early Friday morning. Sy was born December 31, 1921 in Crabtree, PA a son of George and Mary (Kalavsky) Ulicny, and came to this area in 1967. He owned and operated Trumbull Consultants in Canfield and was a civil engineer, P.E. retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Canfield Rotary Club, Gleaner’s Food Bank. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1949 and served on their Admissions Counsel. He served in World War II in the US Army as a Counter Intelligence Agent in the Pacific Theatre. He is survived by his wife Peal Piantoni whom he married June 14, 1945, a son George Ulicny of Maui, HI, a daughter Robin Burlingame of Centerville, VA, and 2 brothers Edward Ulicny of South Bend, IN, and Paul Ulicny of Bethel Park, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Ulicny and 2 brothers Joseph and Jack. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
