Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell for Theodore Kiddon of Canfield who passed away at home on Monday morning. Mr. Kiddon was born April 22, 1926 in Struthers, the son of Paul and Alexandra (Katrenich) Ted was the owner/operator of Ted’s Barber and Styling in the West Gate Plaza in Austintown for 45 years. He was written up in the Esther Hamilton Column for giving free haircuts to boys who stayed in school as a service to the community. He was a member of the Mahoning Archery Club where he earned many trophies, the Youngstown Model Railroad club where he had an extensive display, and the Mahoning Saddle and Bridle Club where he was involved in the Youngstown Charity Horse Show in charge of the trophy room. He was also involved in 4-H as an advisor and served on its board. Ted was a well-known iconographer writing icons for churches both here and in Europe. He was the Assistant Director of St. John of Damascus Sacred Arts Academy in Ligoneer, PA. Ted was also a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell where he had served as the Treasurer and Financial Secretary and was a member of the Orthodox Club of America. Mr. Kiddon was a member of A.A.R.P. chapter 3104, and was a judge for the Youngstown City Schools Christmas paintings. Ted also served in the Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre winning the Bronze Battle Star, The Phillipine Liberation Ribbon, and the Army Occupation Medal in Japan. Besides his wife Marilyn (Nelson) Kiddon whom he married in 1953, Ted leaves two children: Sandy (Bob)DeCerbo of Canfield, and T.J. Kiddon of Spring Hill, FL. He also leaves a grandson B.J. DeCerbo of Canfield. Ted was preceded in death by four sisters: Olga Savonik, Mildred Auberry, Mary, and Pearl Kiddon. He was also preceded in death by five brothers: Samuel, Julius, Andrew, Harry, and Daniel Kiddon. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home in Austintown on Wednesday from 6-9 PM where a Parastas service will be held at 8:30. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley at 5190 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.
