AUSTINTOWN- Theodore "Ted" Lustritz, age 85, passed away peacefully at his daughters residence on Monday, October 29, 2018. Ted was born November 9, 1932 in Kimball, West Virginia to the late Anton and Anne (Moscoe) Lustritz. He moved to Ohio as a boy settling in the Blackhorse suburb of Ravenna. Ted was a Millwright, he worked for Rockwell in Newton Falls, Republic Steel, LTV Steel, and retired from WCI Steel in Warren. He also was an accomplished carpenter, builder and helped build several homes and many pieces of furniture. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army serving in Germany as a mechanic during the Korean War. Just as Frank Sinatra sang, Ted did things "My Way", he enjoyed traveling, gambling at casinos, naps, his great-grandchildren, telling stories, small home projects, sitting in his garage keeping an eye on the neighborhood, and watching TV. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his son T. Wayne Lustritz in 2007, his brother Thomas and his sisters, Catherine Loney, Elizabeth Heston, Lena Gray and Marie Losh. He is survived by his wife, the former Carmen Gatrell, his daughter Sherry (Jim) McKnight; his grandchildren Melanie (Gabe) Wanchick and Jim (Daphne) McKnight, and great-grandchildren Kesston and Ellie Wanchick. His brother Matthew Lustritz, his sister Delores Gordon; several nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors, especially Thurl Cain. Friends may call 10-11AM Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave. in Austintown. Where the funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment Hartzell Cemetery. Teds family would like to thank everyone that cared for him, including Dr. Kelly Tomasic and the nurses at Hospice of the Valley, especially Renee, Diane, and Bridgette. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Valley.
