Theresa Marie Burazer

Theresa M. Burazer, 95 of Cortland, died Thursday morning, March 14, 2019, at Ohio Living Lake Vista Nursing Home in Cortland. She was born October 15, 1923 in Greenville, Pennsylvania.the daughter of the late Vincent and Sarah Crisafi Marzano. Theresa was raised in Greenville but has lived in Cortland for 58 years. During the 1940's and early 50's, Theresa worked at Westinghouse, Mullins Mfg. and Packard Electric. She was a homemaker most of her married life, but worked at Strouss Hirshbergs in Warren and Strouss' at the Eastwood mall when her children were older. Theresa was a longtime member of St. Robert Catholic Church in Cortland, where she had belonged to the Ladies' Guild. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining and loved traveling with her husband, Fred, in their motorhome for several years, spending the winters in Arizona and Texas. Theresa is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Tom) Dickey of Cortland; two sons, Fred F. (Marisa) Burazer II of Cortland and Gary G. (Janey) Burazer of Canyon Lake,Texas; five grandchildren, Fred A. (Megan) Burazer, Rachel Burazer, Sarah (Ian) Hill, Kelsie Dickey and Chelsea (Lance) Hukill and two great granddaughters, Abby and Charlotte. Her husband of 54 years, Fred F. Burazer, whom she married May 20, 1949 preceded her in death in May 2003. Three sisters, Rose Kocis, Julia Barca and Sylvia Fornelli and two brothers, Joseph and Bruno Marzano also preceded in death. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland and from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 18, 2019 at St. Robert Catholic Church in Cortland with Rev. Carl Kish celebrating the Mass. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta. Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at St. Robert Church, 4659 Niles Cortland Rd.
