Services will be 11 AM Friday in Cross Roads Church for Thornton Lovins, 85, of Boardman who passed away Monday evening in Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Thornton was born May 24, 1921 in Dunlow W. VA. the son of Verdic and Georgia (Napier) Lovins. He was a die maker for General Motors for 40 years, retiring 1983. Thornton was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He leaves his wife of 60 years, the former Shelda Lovins whom he married December 1 1945. Thornton also leaves a daughter Marilyn Zirke and her husband Terry of Boardman, two grand children; Christopher Zirke and his wife Heather of Berea Ohio, and Tiffany Thomson and her husband Scott of Hilliard Ohio, as well as seven sisters and two brothers. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and again Friday from 10 to 11 AM at the church.
