Velma June Harris

June Velma (Costello) Harris, 79, passed away from cancer on Friday May 3, 2018 at Guardian Western Reserve Care Center in Erie, PA. She was born on February 28, 1939 in Philippi, West Virginia, daughter of the late Benjamin and Violet Costello (Misiura). June moved to Warren, Ohio, as a child, graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1956, and married the late William Harris on April 7, 1958. She was a long time member of Christ Our King Catholic Church, then attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton-SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Warren. June was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. She was very involved in helping out at her sons' schools as they were growing up. Even afterwards, she went many, many years without missing a Raiders' football game. June had a knowledge of annual flowering plants, and many Warren residents recognized her from buying plants and flowers from her at the family greenhouse, or later from area flower shops. She loved traditions and looked forward to preparing large family meals and the gathering around her table. One by one, her grandchildren became the loves of her life. She always dropped everything to help out with them. She was a super grandma who never missed a ball game, needed ride to school, or even a practice! And of course, the kids always wanted to go to Grandma's house. Left to celebrate June's memory are her son Bob Harris, daughter-in-law Amy, and grandson Robbie of Erie, PA; son Benny Harris of Warren, grandchildren Dairrian, Ben Jr, Brandal, and Breanna; children of her late son Bill Harris; Amber, Cody, Kyle and their children. She also leaves her half sister Linda (Butch) Eastman of Leavittsburg; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" S. Harris, Jr., who passed on in April of 2015; and her husband Bill Sr. in May of 2016. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2018 at 7:00PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren. Family and friends may visit from 5-7:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
