A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday at Lordstown Christian Church, 6370 Tod Avenue S.W., Lordstown OH., for Vernon J. Sanborn Jr., 85, of Warren who passed away Tuesday in St. Joseph Health Care Center. Vernon was born September 28, 1921 in Cleveland the son of the late Vernon J. (Viola Conrad) Sr. and Thelma Sanborn. He was a 1942 graduate of Orange High School and worked as a tool and die maker for True Temper for several years. He also was the co-owner of Sanborn Music in Cleveland for many years. He attended the Lordstown Christian Church and was a member of the Eagles, Elks, and the V.F.W. Vernon was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp. as a pilot. His wife the former Patricia Fasham, whom he married April 21, 1944, passed away July 30, 1993. Vernon leaves three children; Vernon J. (Diane) Sanborn, III of Frankfort IL, Pamela J. Ludwig of Pompano Beach, FL, and Penny J. (Lou) Lindner of Linwood, Ontario, Canada, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way. Vernon also leaves his special friend; Anne Miller and her children; Randy (Davida) Miller, and Shelley (J.J.) Staufenger. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are by the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel.
