Vernon Leon (Lee) Clouse, 100 POLAND OH- Vernon Leon Clouse died Saturday July 29, 2017 at Shepherd of the Valley skilled nursing center, Poland, OH with his family by his side.Lee was born June 12, 1917 in Fairbanks, Indiana to Tressa Rooksberry Clouse and Homer Clouse, where he graduated from Shelburn High School in 1935. Shortly thereafter he moved to the Youngstown area. During a 50 year marriage to Faye Thomas (deceased 1992) he had three children.Lee retired as a proud Teamster in 1977. Lee enjoyed refinishing furniture, garage sales and followed OSU, YSU and Cleveland sports. Lee married Irene Tevis Zavatsky in 1994, spending his remaining years making a home with Irene as his wife and best friend. They attended St. Maron and St. Christine Churches. Lee will be sadly missed by his wife Irene and children Roger & Adell Clouse, Dennis & Barbara Clouse, Diane & Andy Gladsden, Ken & Marilyn Zavatsky, Dennis & Wanda Zavatsky and Janet & Lee Hlucky; five grandchildren Brian, Tim, Tracy, Greg & Jeff and ten great grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Faye, brothers Melvin, Shorty, Chuck, John, Dean and sister Geneva. There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Lane funeral home in Austintown. Private services will be held at a later date.
