Warren - Viola "Vi" Stantial, 85, passed away Friday morning, January 26, 2018 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland, OH. Viola was born on April 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Matt and Esther Faunt and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Elma and Nick Rinda. She was a 1950 graduate of Leavittsburg High School. She worked at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in the Social Services Department, Troutman Drug, and Golden Gate Restaurant. She was a member and treasurer of Central Christian Church, Warren Fifth Wheel Club, where she was on the Sunshine Committee and was the treasurer, and sorority of Ohio Theta Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for 60 years where she was the City Council President and was the first to receive a service award and Girl of the Year in 1963. She also worked the polls during the elections and volunteered for the Cancer Society and Red Cross. She enjoyed helping others and was a friend to all who met her. She showed her friendship by sending letters and cards and would help the elderly who did not have families. She loved playing cards, reading, cooking, and her dogs. Viola will be deeply missed by her son Gerald "Jerry" Stantial of Warren, OH; a long time friend of the family Charlotte Dechellis, and numerous other family members. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard G. "Dick" Stantial, whom she married on September 12, 1954 and passed on August 16, 2006. There will be a prayer service for Viola on a later date and she will be entombed next to her husband at Central Christian Church in Warren.
