Funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday at the First Federated Church for Virginia Shoff age 92 of Cortland, formerly of North Jackson who died 1:45 AM Monday at Glen View Manor. Virginia was born Dec. 30, 1909 in North Jackson and was the daughter of Edgar Clinton and Birdie Jones Nicholas. She had been employed as telephone operator in North Jackson, had worked at Western Reserve Plastics and Peerless Electric and had last been employed for the former Dr. Stewart Patton as a housekeeper. Virginia was a life long member of First Federated Church in North Jackson and the Pythian Sisters Lodge of North Jackson. Her husband, Melvin Emery Shoff whom she married Oct. 28, 1932, died July 1959. She is survived by a daughter, Marian Shoff Hecker and her husband William of Kinsman, OH and a son Charles Melvin Shoff of Ft. Walton Beach, Fl. and his wife Helen Ann, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Martha June Shoff Baker and a son David Edgar Shoff, two brothers Harry and William Nicholas and a grandson John Shoff. Friends may call at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel from 5-8 PM Thursday and 1 hour prior to services at the church Friday. The family requests that material contributions be made to the First Federated Church or the Boy Scouts of America.
