Walter Houston Brian, 89 Youngstown: Walter Houston Brian, 89 passed away early Tuesday morning at Heritage Manor. Walter was born August 3, 1926 in Salem, a son of the late Arthur S. and Lucille Houston Brian. He graduated from Salem High School and served in the Army during World War II. Walter also graduated from Youngstown College where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for basketball. He worked as a terminal manager for Sherwin Williams Trucking, formerly Lyons Transportation for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. Walter was an avid tennis player and had been a member of the Boardman Tennis and Swim Club for many years. He leaves his wife, the former Anna Shook whom he married August 9, 1952; one son, Michael Brian and his wife Patrice of Mattawan, Michigan and two grandsons, Matthew Brian and Christian Brian. Besides his parents, Walter was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Renner. There will be no services or calling hours per Walter's request. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor for their loving and compassionate care given to Walter. Arrangements are being handled by Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
