Walter T. Tingler, Sr.

Austintown- Walter T. Tingler, Sr., age 83, formerly of Austintown died late Saturday evening at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, OH. Walter was born Aug. 17, 1924 in Youngstown and was the son of the late Carl F. Sr. and Mary Agnes (Conway) Tingler. He retired in Nov. 1985 from Commercial Motor Freight after 36 years where he had been a truck driver and was a member of the Eagles in Austintown. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His wife, the former Dolores C. Hyatt whom he married Dec. 8, 1946 died April 30, 2004. He leaves four children, Barbara Jean Tingler of Youngstown, Mary Agnes Tingler of Winthrop, Maine, Thomas R. Tingler of Austintown, Linda Ann (George) VanDyke of Youngstown, James L. Tingler of Girard, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son Walter T. Tingler, Jr., three brothers Carl F. Tingler, Jr., James M. Tingler and Harry R. Tingler and a grandson Carl Gene Tingler. There are no calling hour or funeral services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home at 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
