Wayne K. Eddy, 84, passed away on June 6, 2019 at Community Skilled Health Care in Warren, Ohio after battling Alzheimers for many years. Wayne was born in Marietta, OH on March 5, 1935 to Clarence & Mary (Adams) Eddy. In 1955, Wayne was united in marriage to the former Rita Boyes whom preceded him in death in 2017. In 1954, Wayne enlisted in the Air Force and turned his service into a 37-year career retiring in 1990. He was an aircraft mechanic and served as a Flying Crew Chief. He was also proud to attain the rank of Master Sergeant. Wayne was a man of faith. He was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Vienna. Both, Wayne and Rita assisted with the numerous fish fries and dinners held at the church, and Wayne was known for being in charge of the coleslaw. He enjoyed the sky, whether he was watching the airplanes go by or birds flutter in the backyard, he was always looking up. However, most importantly, Wayne was a devoted and loving husband and the family is finding comfort that Wayne is back with his Rita. Wayne is survived by his children: Kenneth (Beverly) Eddy, Donna Killing, Patricia (Joseph) Johnson, Elizabeth (Paul) Bowling and Jacqueline (Brad) Burt; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife of 62 years, Wayne was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Anne Eddy, his parents and 11 siblings. Visitation for Wayne will be held on Tuesday June 11, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, Cortland where a funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Newton Falls.
