William K. Alcorn

Cortland – William Alcorn, 83, passed away Monday, December 3, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his family. 

William was born on December 12, 1940 in Nevada, Iowa, a son of the late Kenneth and Margaret Alcorn. 

He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. After High School he joined the United States Marine Corp. Once he returned, he continued his education at Kent State University, graduating with a degree in journalism while working at the Warren Post Office. 

He was a reporter at the Youngstown Vindicator until it closed. 

He was a member of Tod Ave. Methodist Church. He loved music and sang in the church choir as well as Shenango Valley Chorale and Warren Barbershoppers. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada during family vacations. 

William will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Donna Alcorn; children, Jennifer Alcorn and Steven (Barbara) Alcorn; grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Brook, Emily, Michael, Elijah, and Zack; great-grandchildren, KaMyiah Parks, Vera Alcorn, Kartier Thompson, and Gabriel; sister, Stephanie (Steve) Lemke Teske; and brothers, Bob (Lucy) Lemke and Joe (Margueritte) Lemke.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Tim Lemke; sister Donna Matton; and Nathan Alcorn. 

Family and friends may visit from 2-3:00PM on Sunday December 8, 2024 at Howland United Methodist Church with funeral services to follow at 3:00PM. 

Burial will take place at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.
