William Anthony Basilon, 66 of Howland Township, died Thursday, March 21, 2019, at his home in Howland. He was born January 6, 1953 in Warren, the son of the late Anthony William Basilon and Minnie Mae Childs Basilon Hughes. Bill was a 1972 graduate of Brookfield High School. He worked for 39 years as a district manager with Speedway SuperAmerica stores in the area, retiring in 2009. He then worked for 6 years from 2011-17 for Falcon Trucking Company. Bill was a member of St. James Church (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish) for many years, where he had served as and participated in the duties as a eucharistic minister in the parish. He most loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and was a dedicated family man. Bill was an avid Elvis Presley fan as well as of the Green Bay Packers and Notre Dame football clubs. He greatly admired Vince Lombardi and his life strategies and teachings. He is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Kathleen Sue Casey Basilon, whom he married June 18, 1977; four sons, Brian L. (Maria) of Struthers, Michael C. of Champion, Mark A. and Andrew J. both of Howland and nine grandchildren, Brian Basilon II with the USMC, Brandon, Mikayla, Tessa, Grayson and Colton Basilon, Andrew "AJ" Basilon Jr., Madeline Avery and one on the way, Anthony Thomas. One son, William Anthony Basilon Jr. preceded in death in infancy. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parrish (St. James Church site), 2532 Burton St. S.E. in Warren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren and for 1 hour prior to the Mass Tuesday at the church.
