William J. Jeffries, 78, passed away September 23, 2020 at Austinwoods. Bill was born on August 30, 1942 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the only son of the late William and Edna Jeffries. On June 25, 1992 he was united in marriage to the former Jo Ellen (Yaist) Jeffries who survives. Bill known as “Big Red” by his family and friends was a graduate of South High School. He was employed by Youngstown Steel Door for forty-two years as a welder and foreman. Upon retirement he began a fifteen-year career with the Antonine Sisters Adult Day Care as a bus driver and vehicle supervisor. Bill enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife Jo on the back of his bike. He also enjoyed old cars, especially corvettes. Bill was happiest mowing his grass and working in his garden. Bill will be deeply missed by his wife Jo; children William (Debbie) Jeffries, Greg Jeffries, Michelle (Karl Balog) Kukura, Timothy (Jennifer) Knight and Nichole (Mike) Hird. A devoted family man Bill was Grandpa to 12 grandchildren Candace (Russ) Dunn, Samantha (Dan) Best, Lacey (John) Rosati, Adam, Tyler, Blake and Beau Jeffries, Joey Knight, Ashlyn and Danica Juillerat and Nick and Noah Hird. He also leaves to cherish his memory 5 great grandchildren and a great granddaughter on the way. Bill will be missed by his faithful canine companion Gia and his nephew Ron (Maria) Yost. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and son in law Frank Kukura.
