William Snowden Sr. passed away Tuesday morning, May 28, 2019, at his home. Bill was born April 14, 1939 in Lechter County, KY, the son of Carl and Vernon (Thornsberry) Snowden. He was a 1957 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. He was an Army veteran and served in the National Guard. Bill retired in 2001 from J&L Specialty Steel where he worked in the water treatment plant. He was also a skilled carpenter. He was a Christian by faith. Bill loved watching sports, and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He also enjoyed playing chess on the computer with opponents from around the world. He loved working on his lawn. Bill cherished spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. He leaves his wife, the former Shelby Cline, whom he married March 2, 1957 and four children; Cheryl (Edward) Traichal of Warren, Randy (Kim) Snowden of Bristolville, William (Sharon) Snowden Jr., of Girard, and Karen (Tom) Lambert of Mineral Ridge, one sister, Ramona Tomlin of Leesburg, FL., 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother John Snowden. Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM Thursday and again from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM.
